But with the factory timing gear set-up, you can’t “tune” your camshaft timing, a critical power adjustment that affects final engine performance. Now that’s all changed with the introduction of the new COMP Cams® Ford 4.6/5.4L SOHC and DOHC Adjustable Cam Gear Set, which provides up to 12-degrees of camshaft advance or retard, a 24-degree window of adjustability. This ability to adjust the camshaft timing is particularly important when performance engine modifications are completed, such as when decking the block or shaving the heads, procedures which can change camshaft-to-crankshaft centerline positioning and alter cam timing. The new COMP Cams® Ford 4.6/5.4L SOHC and DOHC Adjustable Cam Gear Sets install in exactly the same way as the original factory gears (already equipped with the proper sensor as well) and work with the Ford OE timing chains. Each gear features a billet aluminum hub and steel outer gear for heightened durability and light weight.

Our MP Street Blower cam was designed for those with stock short blocks or built short blocks without notched pistons. This cam was run on Shawn Johnson’s Real Street car and made over 550 rwhp. Shawn’s boost was limited to 15# by class rules.


    To use this cam you will need after market valve springs, rear gear of 3.73 or better. A 2800-rpm stall is recommended for automatic cars.
