ModularPerformance is a family owned enterprise that specializes in the design and build of high performance Modular engines. John Tymensky and son Michael are the owners, the sales / engineering and build team that delivers some of the quickest / fastest Modular powered vehicles. MP has been around for over 10 years. They first started by selling on-line engine components and after proving they could build the quickest 4.6L based NA powered Mustang they were asked to start building engines for others.
Ford Racing asked them to develop high performance Natural Aspirated Modular engines. They were supplied with a 5.0L Spray bore block and a Cobra parts engine. This combination in their Thunderbird ran consistent low 11’s with an automatic. Then came the 2000 BIW that became Cobra X, the quickest 4.6L based NA Modular 4 valve ever. This little 305” spray bore developed 643 BHP. At 2800#, a clutch type Jerico and stock suspension, Cobra X ran consistently 9.3’s @ 146 mph. This was accomplished in 2002 and still remains today.
Shawn Johnson has shown that under controlled rules; an MP 4 valve is the one to beat. Shawn / MP have more wins (2004, 2005 & 2006) and records (2004, 2005 & 2006) in NMRA Factory Stock history. Shawn is the first Back-to-Back FS Champion. Shawn’s engine was featured in the June 2007 issue of 5.0 Magazine.
MP has designed and built 600+rwhp s/c 2v and 3v, plus many 700+rwhp s/c and 900+ turbo 4v.
